Thanks for making this video and the files you provided. I'm new to CNC and have the 4040 Reno. Can you use the .art file for the Reno? it seems that the spoil boards are the same from the Pro to the Reno and they are both 4040. If so, it would certainly save me time with doing this for my Reno.

Nice review ! How do you change the Cutting Speed on this machine? My G-Code shows F40. Do I need to change the XY GRBL $ settings ? If so which ones ? Like how would I double the cutting speed ? Thanks James

Can it mount to the FoxAlien Masuter Pro

Recently upgraded mine like this too. Have you noticed any deflection at all when doing long cuts across the x axis? If i do a straight cut of say 500mm, it ends up being an arc with a deflection of about 1mm in the middle. I use illustrator + easel + candle... pretty much elliminated software issues. I curently susspect gantry sag when getting to the middle of the x axis.

I think that you could make it longer for the size band you are shooting. Thin plywood is not strong across it's grain, many thin layers in opposite directions help . For the spoked wheel It looks like you had two layers but had room for three or even four. It would be beneficial maybe to cut the wheel out of acrylic that has no grain. I think you have room inside to make a dart launcher as a surprise last shot.

Great video!! I have this cnc machine. I bought it after watching your videos. Ultimately I want to machine a guitar. 🎸 am able to fit a body on the bed, but for a neck. Need something a little bigger. They have a 1313 frame upgrade which measures 52 X 52in. My concern is the stability of the cnc at that size. Do you have any intel on how stable that would be? Great video James. I made trivet style coasters in quality pine few years ago, i soaked in BLO (PUNGENT STUFF) overnight, then dried & buffed. (I also chamfered all edges to make them stand out against quick routered trivets) They've been waterproof and stick proof. No cups sticking as i would usually get with varnish coasters. I. Not sure varnish would survive hot pots & trays. But please update us on how your poly finish react to varnish over time?

I ended up using a heatgun to get the collars off, about a min of high heat, then I took the set screws out with a T8 Torx bit using an impact driver 😊

I have the exact same LE-1620 you showed in the video, I may have used it 20 times in tiny projects. I've been doing dog tags lately with it and have only done about 12. Speed and power setting is 2000/95. Went to do a test print today and it hardly printed anything on the anodized aluminum. I've been playing with it a couple hours now and can't get it to do a decent job unless I do multiple passes and it still doesn't look right. I've checked the s-value settings with the firmware, it matches. I don't know what to do next, I definitely don't want to buy a new laser head. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Throw away the spindle when you get it. Don't buy a bunch of 1/8" cutter bits, then decide to upgrade to a Makita.

I changed my spring as it seemed to be a bit of a thicker gauge. I wasn't sure, with the extra length, they wanted a beefier spring.

I watched the spoil board video and I was thinking why not use a planer

25:20 Note that the original shorter front and back bars are exactly the same height as the new longer ones, I plan on putting mine under the center of the spoilboard assembly to add more deflection/rigidity support, then surface the board after, might as well use them :)

Would this machine be able to handle a 2.2 kw spindle?

I just received and installed the X axis extension to get a 6040, and was wondering if you had the updated files for these new combinations (6040,4060,6060) ? hi, I also upgraded with the 4060 kit and replaced the spoilboard with the hybrid plan. I preferred this configuration because I already own a 4030 prover xl with 6060 extension and aluminum spoilboard. Hello from Italy
